You deserve a safe, accepting place where you feel seen
Clients come to see me, all with a different story, sharing common complaints. They tell me they want to feel better, improve relationships, to know themselves, to trust themselves and to like themselves again. They feel frustrated by ineffective prior treatment, an inability to see their way out of a situation, and often overwhelming feelings of shame and failure.
The story line will sound something like this... "I used to be able to find things I enjoyed. I can't anymore and I don't know why." Or, "if my spouse would just listen to me maybe I could feel better. But that doesn't happen and we stay on the same roller coaster." Or, "My anxiety is out of control. I'll be ok and then, bam, it just hits me upside the head and I'm spinning." Or, "I don't feel good enough. I compare myself to everyone else. I can't ever do enough to feel like I'm adequate in life".
They long to enjoy the present moment and have the courage to make the change they desire. They want to feel lighter - more free. The burden they carry is heavy.
I am so grateful they ended up in my office. EMDR therapy can help.
I am trained in many different therapeutic models, and I choose to exclusively work with EMDR therapy. I made the switch over 2 years ago and I haven't looked back. Utilizing EMDR, we make a plan and we get busy resolving negative feelings and cognitions. Sessions are always focused on a client's goals, and while structured, the client is always in control.
Because, your goals deserve the necessary time and space.
Symptoms do not typically just "go away" on their own. What is at stake for you if you do not take action?
I am currently supporting clients in three ways: working intensively with EMDR therapy on a regular schedule (Telehealth only), adjunct EMDR therapy (Telehealth or in person) and EMDR therapy intensives (Telehealth or in person).
I am licensed to provide services to people who live in SC, GA and VA. If you do not reside in one of these three states, you may fly in to work with me.
